East Kerry Under 14 Division 2 League Final
Fossa 4-12 Gneeveguilla 3-10
In a very entertaining game played in Direen on Friday last, Fossa emerged victorious to claim the East Kerry Under 14 Division 2 league title. Playing with the wind in the 1 st half, Fossa led by 2-10 to 0-6 with Tadhg O'Shea getting the vital goals and kicking some excellent points. While Gneeveguilla had the much stronger players up the middle, Fossa had a more balanced team and played the better football in this half. On the resumption, Gneeveguilla now with the wind advantage came more into the game with Daniel Murphy, Christopher Collins and Conor Herlihy playing well, but excellent defending by Daniel Griffin, Daniel Coffey and captain Daniel O'Keeffe kept Fossa ahead. Two goals from young Paudie Clifford put the result beyond doubt but Gneeveguilla never gave up and in an exciting finish scored 3 goals to reduce the winning margin to 5 points.

Under 14 Division 3 Semi-Final
In a game played in atrocious weather conditions, Fossa narrowly lost out to hot favourites Beaufort in Beaufort last Wednesday evening on a scoreline of 5-8 to 5-5.
Playing with a strong wind and driving rain, Beaufort led by 4-6 to1-2 at half-time. However, with the elements at their backs, the Fossa lads rose to the challenge with tremendous football and spirit despite the inclement weather. Alan Buckley's long clearances set up numerous attacks while the the fullback line of Matthew Rennie, Daniel Coffey and Brendan Curran repelled many attacks. Captain David Osterloh, Stevie O'Connor and Daniel O'Keeffe formed a strong half-back line. In mid-field Darragh Rice ran all night and, along with Shane Hennigan, set up many attacks. The forwards ably led by Tadhg O'Shea worked hard in the 1st half with limited possession. On the resumption Grainne and Paudie Devane played a lot of ball as did Gavin O'Connor in the corner. Full forward Mickey O'Shea worked tirelessly for the team making life difficult for the Beaufort defense and setting up numerous attacks. Paudie Clifford was dangerous every time he got the ball and took his scores well. Both teams deserve special praise for the exciting sporting game despite the weather.
